Mayor Rochefort called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Business Arising from the Minutes
 

Councillor Kelly commented on the Cassellholme Redevelopment. Mayor Rochefort mentioned regarding the Algonquin Land Claims presentation from the last meeting and we had another presentation for this evening.  Mayor Rochefort also advised that the tenders were prepared for the trusses at the East Ferris Community Centre.

Chair's Comments:
 

Mayor Rochefort advised that the Municipality of East Ferris was saddened with the news that was received during the holiday season with the passing of Deputy Mayor Voyer.  Deputy Mayor Voyer was a strong, energetic person. 

Mayor Rochefort also advised that the Municipality acknowledged Premier Ford's announcement today and the Emergency Management Committee will be meeting on Wednesday to review the Provincial Declaration.

Mr. Todd Wilcox made a presentation to Council pertaining to the Algonquin Land Claims.  Council mentioned to provide our MP and MPP with copies of Mr. Wilcox's presentation.  The Municipality has been in contact with the Algonquin Land Claims regarding setting up a Special Meeting with them and having the residents around the Algonquin Land Claims area participate in providing questions to the Municipality to bring forward for the meeting.

Mr. George Elliott made a presentation to Council regarding the crown land at the end of Bertha Road.  Council referred Mr. Elliott's presentation to the Public Works Committee for review.

CAO - Verbal Report regarding Canada Post Lease
 

CAO advised Council that Canada Post is requesting more space at its present location at the East Ferris Community Centre.  Council advised CAO to move forward and negotiate with Canada Post regarding available space that we current have and prepare agreement.
