    WHEREAS the East Ferris Fire and Emergency Services Committee reviewed the Establish and Regulate a Fire Department By-law at their meetings of March 5th and March 13th, 2025;

    AND WHEREAS the Committee recommends Council amend By-law No. 2020-11 by:

    1. Replacing Schedule “A’ – Fire Department Organizational Chart with the updated chart (attached to Minutes)
    2. Replacing any reference to Battalion Chief to Deputy Fire Chief throughout the by-law
    3. Section 5 – remove “Fire Prevention Officer(s), Inspector(s), Fire Safety Educator(s)”
    4. Section 14. a) and b) remove “Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act”
    5. Section 15 – remove “coordinating the Emergency Management Program”

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

    THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation of the Director of Public Works and Engineering contained in Report No. R-2025-11 and authorizes staff to declare surplus the 2017 Dodge Ram Pickup Truck; 

    AND THAT Council authorizes staff to dispose of the surplus asset on the GovDeals online auction site with a minimum bid of $10,500.00, and if not sold, to negotiate a selling price with the highest bidder or repost the asset with a lower reserve price.

    THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation of the Fire Chief contained in Report No. FIRE-2025-01 and authorizes the Fire Chief to proceed with a Request for Proposal for the purchase of a new fire truck to replace the 2007 pumper tanker;

    AND THAT the Treasurer for the Municipality of East Ferris be authorized to submit a loan application to Infrastructure Ontario and the Royal Bank of Canada to seek financing for this purchase.
