Director of Community Services, Greg Kirton, Brent Parsons from Hutchinson Environmental and Jason Ferrigan from JL Richards presented to Council. The report will be brought forward to the next regular Council meeting.

By-law No. 2024-01: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Reading

  WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session;

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to provide for interim tax rates for the year 2024 BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2024-01;

  AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

  WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session;

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to authorize temporary borrowing from time to time to meet current expenditures during the fiscal year ended December 31st, 2024, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2024-02;

  AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

  WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session;

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to authorize the execution of an agreement between the Corporation of the Municipality of East Ferris and Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) for Active Transportation Funding BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2024-03;

  AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

Resolution: Cancel Second Meeting in January (ROMA Conference)

  WHEREAS Council Members will be attending the 2024 ROMA Conference being held in Toronto from January 21st to January 23rd, 2024;

  AND WHEREAS there is a Regular Scheduled Council meeting on January 23rd, 2024;

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for January 23rd, 2024 be canceled in its entirety and that a Special Meeting of Council be scheduled in accordance with Section 240 of the Municipal Act, as amended at the call of the Chair if required.
