Mayor Champagne called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

Mayor Champagne reminded the public of the Light Up the Park event happening at Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 26th. Mayor Champagne also noted that there are still tickets available for the Knights of Columbus Silent Auction on Saturday, November 29th at the East Ferris Community Centre. 

Deputy Mayor Rooyakkers provided an update to Council on the Trivia Night event hosted by the East Ferris Public Library. The event was well attended.

    THAT Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of East Ferris concurs with the recommendation in Report No. BL-2025-01; 

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT That the Council for the Municipality of East Ferris directs staff to undertake a review and evaluate options for the expanded placement and use of freight containers under Zoning By-Law 2021-60 and prepare a recommendation, including appropriate standards and criteria for their placement and use in zones, beyond Commercial and Industrial; 

    AND FURTHER THAT Council directs the By-law Enforcement Officer to bring a report to Council in early 2026.

    WHEREAS the "Creating to Bring Us Closer Program" seeks to strengthen children’s civic involvement by engaging them in the creation of permanent collective mural artworks that symbolize their commitment to their city and their country; 

    AND WHEREAS the Program aims to raise public awareness of the vital role played by minority official language communities in the social and cultural development of East Ferris; 

    AND WHEREAS the National Director is seeking participation and support from the Municipality of East Ferris; 

    AND WHEREAS this Program is funded in part by the Government of Canada;

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris supports this Project and directs staff to collaborate with those required to facilitate the artworks in our community.
