Call to Order

Mayor Rochefort called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

Adoption of Agenda

On the request from Councillor Kelly, an In-Camera item relating to the Seniors Villas was added to agenda item. No. 17.

Report No. R-2024-04: Lake Nosbonsing Road Culvert Reline

  THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Municipal Engineer contained in Report No. R-2024-04 and award the tender for the Nosbonsing Road Culvert Reline to Provincial Underground Services Inc. in the amount of $117,717.75 including HST.

  THAT By-law No. 2024-15 being a By-law to enter into an Automatic Aid Agreement between the Corporation of the Municipality of East Ferris and the Corporation of the Municipality of Callander, BE READ a first and second time this 9th day of April, 2024.

  AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and the Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to close and convey a part of the original shoreline road allowance in front of PT Hemlock Island Trout Lake Plan NR-558 Part 6 PCL 10715 W/F, described as Part 1, Plan 36R-15213, East Ferris, District of Nipissing BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2024-17;

  AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

  WHEREAS Council Members will be attending the 2024 Good Roads Conference being held in Toronto from April 21st to April 24th, 2024;

  AND WHEREAS there is a Regular Scheduled Council meeting on April 23rd, 2024;

  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for April 23rd, 2024 be canceled in its entirety and that a Special Meeting of Council be scheduled in accordance with Section 240 of the Municipal Act, as amended at the call of the Chair if required.

Councillor Trahan reminded everyone about Community Clean-up Day on May 7th, 2024. Participants can email their pictures to the Municipality for a chance to win one of ten prizes.
