Mayor Champagne called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

Mayor Champagne noted that the East Ferris Fire & Emergency Services held their recruitment event and thanked the Department for their hard work. He also reminded the public that the Annual Christmas Dinner and Auction held by the Knights of Columbus is coming up in November.

Deputy Mayor Rooyakkers noted that Harvest Dinner hosted by the East Ferris Horticultural Club was a success. Mayor Champagne added that it was well attended and a great event.

    THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts an amendment to the recommendation of the CAO in Report No.CAO-2025-02; 

    AND THAT Council approves the Municipal Staff Christmas Party as status quo for 2025, to be revisited at the 2026 budget deliberations.

    THAT the Council for the Municipality of East Ferris supports the Municipality of Bluewater urging the Province of Ontario to immediately implement other service delivery models that are being successfully modeled elsewhere in the province to address the Early Childhood Educator shortage.

    AND FURTHER THAT this resolution be forwarded to the Honourable Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, and the Honourable Paul Calandra, Minister of Education.

re: Proposed Pocket Park - Astor Street South

    WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council from September 9th, 2025 to October 14th, 2025, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2025-44;

    AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.
