Mayor Rochefort called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.

Mayor Rochefort advised the Medical Centre grand opening was a success. Council had some excellent meetings and presentations at AMO in August as well.

    WHEREAS the Recreation, Parks and Culture Committee recommended to Council to formerly go ahead with a partnership for a second boat launch, dock and expanded parking at the South Shore Board Launch with the Nosbonsing Anglers and Hunters;

    AND FURTHER that the Municipality plays a role in this partnership to assist in the administration role such as the coordinating of permits and communications required from the Nosbonsing Anglers and Hunters;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

Mayor Rochefort spoke to the meeting on September 8th. A childcare information session will be taking place on September 26th. The invitation will be posted within the week. Cameras on school buses were also discussed at the meeting.

    THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris approves of the Police Services Board initiative to send a letter to other Police Service Boards, OGRA, AMO, and local School Boards regarding the installation of cameras on school buses.

Council Meetings - October 11th and 25th, 2022

    WHEREAS the Municipal Elections are being held on Monday, October 24th, 2022;

    AND WHEREAS there is a regular scheduled meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 the day following the Municipal Elections;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the regular scheduled Council meeting set for October 25th, 2022 be cancelled in its entirety.

National Day of Mourning - September 19, 2022

 

Council discussed honoring the late Queen with a day of mourning on September 19th, 2022.
