Mayor Rochefort called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Mayor Rochefort commented on the fire at the Municipal Garage.  There is no further details on the fire, it's being investigated and damage is being assessed.

    WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-Law to authorize the Execution of Agreement between Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation  and the Corporation of the City of North Bay, the Corporation of the Municipality of East Ferris, the Corporation of the Township of South Algonquin, the Corporation of the Township of Bonfield, the Corporation of the Township of Papineau-Cameron, the Corporation of the Township of Chisholm, the Corporation of the Township of Calvin, the Corporation of the Town of Mattawa, the Corporation of the Township of Mattawan (Collectively the “Guarantors” and each, a “Guarantor”) relating to Guarantee and Postponement of Claims, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2022-16;

    AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

    WHEREAS Section 284 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O., c.25, as amended, requires that the Treasurer of a Municipality shall in each year on or before March 31st  provide to the Council of the municipality an itemized statement on remuneration and expenses paid in the previous year;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the 2021 Statement of Remuneration and Expenses itemized for each Member of Council and Member of Local Boards and Committees, as submitted.

Resolution - Cancelling Regular Council Meeting April 12, 2022

    WHEREAS Council Members will be attending the 2022 OGRA Conference being held in Toronto from April 10th to April 13th, 2022;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for April 12th, 2022 be canceled in its entirety and that a Special Meeting of Council be scheduled in accordance with Section 240 of the Municipal Act, as amended at the call of the Chair if required.
