Mr. Dean Demers, Resident of the Municipality

Mr. Dean Demers, expressed his concerns to Council regarding internet connectivity in the municipality.  Mr. Demers has been in contact with MP, Anthony Rota.  Council advised that the Economic Development will be having a meeting in the near future and internet connectivity will be one of their main subject.

    WHEREAS the Recreation, Parks and Culture Committee recommended to Council to support the proposed Sports Recognition Awards Policy and that the Document Policy be sent to Council for consideration and approval;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

    WHEREAS the Recreation, Parks and Culture Committee recommended to Council for approval to proceed with the design and installation of the Sport Hall of Fame and Recognition Wall in the Rene Boudreau Hall at the East Ferris Community Centre with an upset limit not to exceed $5,000.00;

    AND FURTHER that See More Graphics be the contractor of choice for this project in order to keep the same look and feel as the Volunteer Recognition Wall designed in the lobby of the Community Centre previously installed in 2018;

    AND FURTHER that the timeline for the installation be established with See More Graphics based on the final design once approved;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

    AND FURTHER that this resolution be forwarded to the Premier of Ontario, Honourable Doug Ford; Minister of Finance, Honourable Vic Fedeli; Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, Honourable Greg Rickford; Minister of Municipal Affairs, Honourable Steve Clark, AMO, FONOM, and NEOMA

Resolution - Cancel Regular Scheduled Meeting of February 26th, 2019

    WHEREAS Council Members will be attending the 2019 OGRA Conference being held in Toronto from February 24th-27th, 2019;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council for the Municipality of East Ferris cancel the regular scheduled Council meeting of February 26th, 2019 and that a Special Meeting of Council be scheduled in accordance with Section 240 of the Municipal Act, as amended at the call of the Chair if required.

    WHEREAS the Terms of References for Boards and Committees Policy have been approved by Council on December 12th, 2018 through resolution No. 2018-359;

    AND WHEREAS Council requested that sections of the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest be added to the Boards and Committees Policy;

    BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves the revised Policy for the Terms of References for Boards and Committees to include the Code of Conduct and the Conflict of Interest.
