A public meeting was held on an application submitted by the Municipality.  The Municipality is proposing to amend the Municipality's Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2021-60, as amended.  The proposed amendment is to rezone the subject parcel of land from the existing Rural (R) zoning to a Institutional (I) Special Zoning in order to permit the construction of a new Municipal Fire Hall.

The Director of Community Services did a review of the application to the members of the Planning Advisory Committee and the public in attendance.  The Director of Community Services answered all of the questions and concerns of the committee.

No public input was received at the public hearing and the application was approved.

    WHEREAS the Municipality of East Ferris on behalf of the registered land owner(s) of the lands described as EAST FERRIS CON 10 PT LOT 15 PCL 1447  on what is locally known as 31 Champagne Road, has applied to amend Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 2021-60 to rezone a parcel of land from the existing Rural (R) zoning to a Institutional (I) Special zoning in order to permit the construction of a new Municipal Fire Hall;

    AND WHEREAS the application is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement, 2024;

    AND WHEREAS the application is in conformity with the policies contained within the Official Plan for the Municipality;

    THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the application for a zoning by-law amendment be recommended for approval.
